| Other News Identification Panel A vacancy for an experienced county birdwatcher has become available on the EBSIP (Essex Birdwatching Society Identification Panel).
Duties include three or four panel meetings a year along with a postal review of records sent to the panel by the county recorders. A new style e-mailable Description Form for both local and national rarities can be downloaded from the records page. Please use this form if at all possible. Abberton and Hanningfield Reservoir Permits: Would members who wish to use the permits held at the above Visitor Centres please show their Society fixture card for the current year as a means of identifying themselves as members of EBS when applying for a permit. This will ensure that permits, if available, are issued by EWT centre staff without question. These permits cover two members only.
Old Hall Marshes RSPB Reserve: Birdwatchers wishing to visit the reserve can do so at any time via the seawall from Tollesbury. However should you wish to use the reserve carpark you will require a permit that can be freely obtained from the reserve office by emailing Paul Charlton the site Warden.
