Following rule changes by the Inland Revenue, all donations made to bodies of
charitable status (which includes the Essex Birdwatching Society) can benefit
from gift aid tax relief. Without the need for deeds of covenant or complicated
form filling or witnesses, the Essex Birdwatching Society can now claim all
tax paid on subscriptions, gifts, donations, etc., to a value of 28p for every
£1 given provided the giver completes and returns the declaration below.
For every £16 subscription paid, the Society can recover 28%. This would mean an annual boost to the Society's
Funds of approximately £3,000 if every member completes and returns the
form. Please respond without delay and return the completed declaration to the
Covenant Secretary whose address appears below. Thank you.

I WISH THE ESSEX BIRDWATCHING SOCIETY TO TREAT ALL SUBSCRIPTIONS, DONATIONS, GIFTS, ETC. MADE AFTER 6TH APRIL 2000 AS GIFT AID AND TO RECLAIM TAX ON THESE PAYMENTS UNDER THE GIFT AID SCHEME UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE OR I DISCONTINUE MY MEMBERSHIP.
I WILL NOTIFY THE ESSEX BIRDWATCHING SOCIETY IF I CEASE TO PAY INCOME TAX AT ANY TIME IN THE FUTURE.
